Long time no post! Well, long story INCREDIBLY short, I find myself in a situation where I am attempting to get an Omtech Polar (55w) CO2 machine to play nice with Meerk40t. It seems somewhat responsive, but I figured I’d drop by here and see what people were saying on the topic. Sadly, not enough conclusive (from what I can tell) to say there are any success stories on the boards here. So I figured I’d just outright ask!
I connected on a Linux machine with the ruida option that’s built into Meerk40t. The camera responds, but the image that comes up is a blurry mess of nothingness (random brown splotches somewhat blending together). When running a test “print”, I get a connection error (that won’t show up now that I’m posting about it… so when I see it next, I will take a photo and upload it). I am aware that the ruida driver is incomplete. I saw that as I was selecting it. Still, doesn’t hurt to ask if anyone has had reasonable success with the usage of this machine with Meerk40t. Thanks in advance!
Hi there. I do not have a Omtech but I do have 130w CO2 with a ruida controller that I connect via usb (from linux) and it seems to work correctly so far from Meerk40t. I’ve not seen the error you mentioned and most things seem to run as expected. The only issue I have run across is when i do rasters too fast it will jump an offset and then continue on… this is probably just a settings thing as if i slow it down it works fine.
Thank you for the information. I’ve had to switch gears for the sake of time saving (the current owner of the machine wants me to problem solve a Lightburn issue ahead of getting Meerk40t working correctly with it… which is fine because Meerk40t was moreso for ME to be able to easily utilize the machine to help them make stuff with it whereas problem solving Lightburn was more so THEY could get back to using it more because they prefer Lightburn. I will continue to play with it as time permits and comment here on my experiences, be they good or bad, as often as I can.
