YAY! @Jerrill_Johnson is here!
When are you going to swap to a better machining setup and brass hex stock? Your nozzles would turn out so much better that way.
@ThantiK I would love to find someone to machine the blanks for me. It’s just a matter of finding the time to do the nozzle design, find the vendor, etc. I’m still not sure there is enough volume to justify it though. I only sell a few of these a week. So it’s pretty easy to keep up making these by hand. If I did that though, I would probably be able to drop the cost and might have more in sales, but I’m not sure. Honestly I expected someone else to start selling better ones for less by now. I’m hopeful for the months following Christmas though.
Look at http://mfg.com, basically you create a nice detailed spec drawing, and people bid on the job. One of the guys at deltamaker suggested it to me.
@ThantiK Thanks! I’ll check it out… And get started on that drawing!
@ThantiK I have an RFQ up on http://mfg.com for nozzle blanks. Took me a couple of days to figure how to put the print together with free (buggy) software. But I finally got there. I’m no mechanical engineer, so we’ll see how this goes.
I was told the guys at http://mfg.com will actually look over your drawing and make sure it’s sufficient for bidding or whatever. Keep me in the loop with your experiences, DeltaMaker uses that site, but I have no personal experience with it. It might be something worth keeping in mind for later for me though.
@ThantiK Yeah, it looks like the RFQ is on hold pending their approval. So far the only quirk is that the website is only stable in Firefox. Logs out randomly in Safari, Chrome, and IE.
I mean, I think that’s a good thing, tbqh. Keeps people from forgetting information that would be needed, etc. I’ve heard nothing other than good things about the process from the guys at DeltaMaker.
@ThantiK I agree. I’m glad to get another set of eyes on it. So far so good!
