A little tip. Don’t be afraid to play with settings that are completely different from ones you see posted here.

Prior to tonight I kept trying to adjust my laser power to compensate for lights that were too light or darks that were too dark. My typical starting point was 300/150 (Light/Dark) and capping the power at like 60%. I was getting burn through on the darks and barely any markings on the lights on thin veneer.

Well on a whim I flipped it and put my Light to 150 and my Dark to 300 and put the power back to 0-100. The effects were immediately noticeable. I have a few more tests to do to get some of the finer detail dialed in, but my point is even if you have the same machine, don’t be afraid to deviate from the settings you see others post.

This is the image I’m working with.

This is specially useful for diode Laser wich lack power so slowing down white and speeding black and compensate

Interesting. I’d love to see comparison of results when you’re finished if you have pics.

Hoping to play with it a bit more today. I’ll have to try this with the test gradient to see how that looks
