3D Printed Pinky (Pinky and The Brain) - Before/After Supports Removal. By SparkyFace5. layer height 0.2mm, 5h+ print, prusai3mk2, manually added supports and 15 skirt outlines in s3d.
How do you manually add supports?
@Kevin_Danger_Powers Simplify 3D has an option for it
@Elliot_May I heard that program costs money. Is there a free version? I’ve been using Cura and it works well but the ability to add and remove supports would be nice.
No free or even trial version of simplify - but I have never regretted buying it
We love the skirt/brim option. But sometimes to make sure that skirt/brim covers the support area we have to apply a big amount of skirt outlines. Is there a way around it? Does anyone knows how to apply skirt/brim to supports? Just to be sure. We stopped using a raft as it damages the print.

could you please next time give us weight before and after removing support. propeller 50% waste.
@JC_Ouellet Might be. Our task was to make sure that main supports blob was as a single piece. This helped to keep supports attached well to the bed in the beginning and was easier to remove it in the end. Supports will be recycled for sure!
EXPLAIN RECYCLED, not in Canada non recyclable in Toronto. Weight after print, then weight after removal of support. Grams, milligrams… weight you know. My spool for 60$ PLA Dremmel >- weights
@JC_Ouellet Well, we must admit that our “RECYCLING” means: piling all PLA bits in one bag until better times Until there will be a real recycling unit or machine in the end
hope your printing brain to go with him
@oliver_marks Sure, we still have same color filament left for the Brain
