@Stijn_Speetjens Actually, this specific model is designed to take advantage of the elasticity of the plastic. The pawl, the part that prevents the ratchet wheel from turning backwards, has a spring-like feature built in so it needs to bend slightly. Printing in metal would render the pawl useless. I can imagine those printing in PLA may have a harder time turning since it is stiffer than ABS.
